The classical guitar is a nylon strung acoustic instrument originating from Spain. It has evolved over hundreds of years to its present form which appeared at the end of the 19th Century. Despite its name, a wide range of music is played on the instrument. In Spain and Latin America it is the folk instrument of choice. The classical guitar makes a warm, rich sound and is played solo or in ensemble.
