Music For Everyone
We firmly believe that music is for everyone – even the beat of your heart plays music. There is a power in music that can stir deep emotion, as an explosive expression of humanity. No matter what culture we are from, everybody loves music. And music is there for everybody.
Inclusion is at the heart of our plans with our new strategy, as we expand our offering to embrace new styles and to reach new audiences. We believe in the transformative power of music to make a difference in everyone’s lives.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Recognising that we could do more to connect with children and young people, we developed our inclusion strategy throughout 2020 to ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion was embedded across the organisation. Throughout this process we were able to identify the barriers to participation faced by children and young people and outline the ways in which we plan to address those barriers. Our strategy highlights the existing support we have in place which includes ensuring finances are not a barrier through our Support with Fees. It also enabled us to broker new partnerships as it helped to identify how broadening and diversifying our offer is something we can work with other organisations to achieve.
We employ a Partnerships and Inclusion Development Manager to lead on inclusion within the organisation ensuring it underpins our entire offer and driving change through the strategy to ensure equitable access and progression for children and young people. Across the organisation we also have a number of Inclusion Champions who share a particular passion for this area and want to work together to deliver better outcomes.
