Katie Minien

Katie Minien is Associate Musical Director of Berkshire County Youth Choirs.

I am the Singing Development Coordinator/Vocal Animateur for West Berkshire, I promote and teaches voice as well as direct several school choirs. I am the musical director for three Newbury Music Centre choirs and the county auditioned Berkshire Children’s Choir.

Career highs and projects include composing and directing my own opera, solo performances in the University’s Howell Theatre, and conducting the Brunel University Gospel Choir.

I have managed projects for the sound design company Iconik Sonik. They composed and performed at the Weather, Art and Music Festival and the Calling the Tune Festival. I have worked with Spitalfields Music and assisted with community projects, which included the choral work Crowd Out by David Lang.

I graduated with a first class honours Musical Performance degree from Brunel University. Following this I undertook and completed my teacher training in 2016 and graduated with a distinction from the University of Reading.
