Jamie Read

Jamie Read is an award-winning arts leader, who co-founded the charity READ College | Access to The Arts which he led as Artistic Director for 14 years. Earlier in his career Jamie was a professional actor, singer and dancer and enjoyed an international career including performing in the West End, the US, Europe and all over the UK appearing alongside Dame Judi Dench and Craig Revel Horwood.

An expert voice coach and vocal health specialist, Jamie wrote his postgraduate papers on using technology in training singers and went on to present his research in Berlin, London and Barcelona. Jamie has taught at some of the UK’s top drama and musical theatre colleges, and has coached professional recording artists, West End stars and TV personalities in his private practice.

Passionate about inclusion in the arts, Jamie is also Chair of the Charlie Kristensen Foundation and in 2021 was honoured with fellowship of the Society of Leadership Fellows at St George’s House Windsor Castle. Having lived in Berkshire his whole life, he is delighted to be joining the team at BMT.
