Berkshire Music Hub Schools Conference 2024 – Making Music for Everyone
Join us at the Berkshire Music Hub Schools Conference 2024 for a day of learning and inspiration for all music educators!
Berkshire Music Hub Schools Conference 2024 is focused on enabling schools to deliver the National Plan for Music Education to every child in every setting. There will be sessions for all educators from Primary, Secondary and Inclusion settings, built around workshops, forums and discussion groups with content led by leading national providers and Berkshire Music Trust partners alongside our own highly skilled music leaders from Berkshire Music Trust.
The conference will take place in the beautiful setting of Wellington College with lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day.

Guest Speakers
We are delighted to confirm that our keynote speakers will be:
• Vaughan Fleischfresser
Originally from Australia and now residing in Scotland, Vaughan has a broad range of teaching experience, ranging from Primary through to University level, Instrumental through to Community Music, and everywhere in between. Vaughan currently teaches music at the Edinburgh Academy in Scotland, having most recently been the Teaching Fellow of Music Education at the University of Edinburgh. In addition to this, he is the Conductor of the Peebles Concert Band and the Peebles Burgh Silver Band and works extensively with Community Music groups throughout Scotland. Away from the classroom and podium, Vaughan is in demand as a clinician, adjudicator, composer, and educational speaker, having spoken at conferences in Australia, Scotland, England, South Africa, and Canada.
• Mark Phillips
School development and music education consultant. Formerly HMI, SHMI and Ofsted’s National Lead for Music. Mark taught music in state schools for over 20 years, including as an Advanced Skills Teacher where he worked with nursery to pre-university pupils and their teachers. During that time, he built music departments with large numbers taking GCSE and A Level music. Mark achieved recognition for the quality of school instrumental and vocal ensembles including through BT National Connections and outstanding performance awards at the National Festival of Music for Youth. He also worked with local authority music services, including managing instrumental/vocal teaching programmes, and conducting and managing orchestras and jazz groups.
